Linn High Therm furnaces of the model KS-S are used for specific oxidation of materials. In the gas tight KS-S furnaces, oxidation potentials can be adjusted specifically by mixtures of air with neutral gases or by tempering of reducing gases by bubblers or steam. That way, alloy components can be oxidized selectively and certain oxidation steps of elements can be produced. Electrical insulation layers on transformer sheets, magnetic iron oxides and active soldered joints of metal ceramic are produced.
For nuclear industry, LHT offers furnace of the model HT for selective oxidation/reduction or uranium oxides. Furnaces of the model LM and VMK-S modified for use in gloveboxes are used for transfer of metallic plutonium to plutonium oxide.
