Technical details

Furnace housing

The attractively designed stainless steel furnace housing is equipped with a shelf below the door which also protects the operating elements from thermal and mechanical damage. Exhaust connecting piece made of stainless steel is installed at the rear wall. 

Insulation

The furnace chamber is vacuum formed in one ceramic fiber block with additional aluminum oxide fiber boards. The use of this lightweight, low heat storage material, permits extremely short heating up - and cooling down times. 

Heating

The furnace is heated by exchangeable Kanthal-APM-Meander heating elements. Power is regulated by a thyristor power unit with phase control operation and a transformer. The heating element connections are led out at the furnace ceiling. At the side, installed from back, a thermocouple type S measures the temperature. 

Control unit

The control system is installed on the bottom side of the furnace (below the deposit) and as a standard it is equipped with the following instruments:

  • Temperature controller G800
  • 2 or 3 setpoint controller with PID behaviour
  • Max. 4 programs with max. 16 segments / steps
  • Display of actual & set value
  • Self-optimization prevents overshooting (pre-adjustment or automatic self-adjustment)
  • Separation of control and configuration level (prevents undesired changes)
  • 4 selectable parameter sets
  • Alarm signal in case of thermocouple fracture
  • Serial interface RS 485 as option (not possible to install afterwards)
  • Safety controller
  • Thyristor power unit with phase angle control
  • Pre-transformer
  • Elapsed hour meter for pre-selection of the switching on – and switching off point
  • Cooling fan for control system
