KS-S furnaces of Linn High Therm are used for reduction of metal oxides of refractory metals Mo, W and Rhenium. Thereby mostly reducing gases such as hydrogen are used.

For this application these protective gas tight furnaces are equipped with a gassing unit for N2, H2, NH3 and air as well as with the safety devices according to ATEX regulations. Due to the rapid water cooling and gas recooling unit short cooling down times and thereby high productivity can be reached at low unloading temperature.

Besides, also gastight rotary tube furnaces are used, which are suitable for an operation under 100 % hydrogen atmosphere.

E. g. for manufacturing of finest nickel powder for batteries.

As test and development furnaces for optimization of industrial processes for example reduction of iron ore with carbon powder in rotary tube furnace the furnaces of LHT are also used.
